1. What time of day should we schedule a session ?
For outdoor shooting I prefer to schedule when the lighting is best. Early mornings or late afternoon is best.2.What if my child doesn't smile for you ? I like to capture the moment, the raw emotion whether it's your child being goofy, gut wrenching laughter, admiring nature.. I love the spontaneous aspect of photography . So if your child doesn't smile at the camera. Its okay !
3. How long does a sitting usually take?
This is going to sound "odd" but I like to shoot until I feel I've gotten what I was looking for. This usually takes me anywhere from one hour-1.5 hrs.
4. What if we run overtime? A session includes 1hr to 1.5 hrs Anything beyond that other than weather or technical delays, will be a charge of $50.00 per extra half hour.
5. What if my child is cranky and won't cooperate?
Please make sure your child is well fed and has had a nap before the shoot. Pick the time that would best work around his/her schedule .
6. Can I give my child snacks during the session?
To be honest, I prefer you didn't.I find that parents dont like the food in the pictures, hindsight...
But I understand if the need comes up .
7 What should my child wear?
What to wear
I have found that loose fitting clothing works great either white shirts or very dark jeans or a natural color for pants. Overalls on little boys are my favorites. My favorite for little girls are white eyelet dresses.
But these are just my suggestions. If you have something you want your child to wear by all means...
The only thing I insist on is barefoot.( weather permitting) I think it makes for a great casual setting and it adds something to the pictures.
Just a note
In any given session I do allow enough time for parents to come in and join for a FEW pictures
